"Projections", a proposal for Patio Herreriano Museum for Contemporary Arts
On this dreamlike proposal, recycled materials such as cardboard, plastic bags and wire are transformed into expressive substances standing for body and soul. The physical part of the dreamer is represented as an horizon and it is consequently made with a rough, imperfect material: cardboard set into layers. Bellow it, the most part of the iceberg. Plastic bags are brought into life thanks to the wire structure filling it with wrinkles and empty spaces. Moreover, with proper lighting, it gives the impression of a mysterious, deep cave. It's also interesting that the usual weight order is reversed, being the heaviest material over the lightest.
This project is the result of the association with Melisa Duque, a young architect with interest in landscapes and scenarios. Cross your fingers for us to get the contest!
